What game is playin Microsoft’s Internet Explorer right now folks?

They leaved a Standard way while chosing a way to create no standard things and make the world go complicated.
Is it the start of the end goin on here?

You get problems using CSS like in no other Browsers.. Now Jpeg images has changed to be recognised no more, chosing pjpeg extension and so on.. I found last something like x-png…, who want this?..

I wish Internet Explorer to stop existing at all, so things will be better..

Here’s what I did:
Warning: If you are using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
IE is not standards compliant and uploads jpeg’s and png’s with incorrect, non-standard mime types (pjpeg and x-png).
These images will not be included in e-mails or pdf’s because they do not comply with specifications provided by IANA.
These images may also be UNVIEWABLE by standards compliant browsers such as Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome.

We recommend downloading and installing Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome and using this tool exclusively for uploading images.
This will maximize the value of your information stored in this application.
Management will not be responsible for rectifying issues created by uploading images with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

Hi Christof,
I got the tip from Sandra that this is your blog. Cool article. I wish that I had read it BEFORE getting my son his IPodtouch for Xmas. I bought his at MediaMarkt, which was ok price-wise. I agree that the box was ridiculous to open w/out breaking it. My son had to borrow his dad’s IPhone charger, so I totally agree with your point about that, too. We have solved the problem by buying him a SONY docking station (with alarm) – his birthday was 2 weeks after Xmas
My son is only 13 years old – so he has no credit card – we use the gift certificates and he seems fine with that. Of course, now he will have the Stockholm syndrome cuz he can only use his apps in the apple world …

true, most ie6 users cannot change to another browser, still maybe sites using the ie6 nag screen makes them complain even more (and yes I know, won’t help much). Anyway, at the time I included the ie6 script I still think it was a good idea, maybe not anymore. I probably remove it, thanks for the hint.
